On arrival at Pulkovo airport \ train station, you will be met and transferred to your hotel* or you may get to the hotel on your own. Check in and spend the balance of the day at leisure for exploring or shopping.

A full day devoted to experiencing this fascinating city, learning of its rich history, and admiring its many fine buildings starts from a delicious  breakfast at hotel (included in accommodation rate). Then visit the Hermitage, the most celebrated and the most important of Russian museums, one of the most beautiful in the world, not only because of its collections, but the buildings themselves.

After a tasty lunch*, take a 1,5 hour walking tour - overview of the Hermitage surrounding area: Palace Square, Forecourt of Capella, Square of Arts, Michael’s Gardens,  Michael’s Castle, Mars’ fields, Marble Palace, Milionnaja Street , Winter Canal, Palace Square. Visit to Spilled Blood cathedral. The rest of the day is free for exploring your local surroundings - you may wish to take a boat trip on the Neva river* and the canals

After a nourishing breakfast (included in accommodation rate) you’ll take a fascinating tour to Peterhof (Petrodvorets), “the Russian Versailles”, residence of the tsars built at the beginning of 18th century: an amazing ensemble of parks, palaces and fountains. Return to the hotel, have lunch* and continue sightseeing on your own or take an optional tour

After a nourishing breakfast (included in accommodation rate) take a tour to Tsarskoe Selo (Pushkin). Visit the famous imperial residence in the baroque palace that was designed by Rasstrelli in the 18th century and that contains the legendary “Amber room”. Return to the hotel, have lunch* and continue sightseeing on your own or take an optional tour

Visit the cathedral of Saint Isaac with its gilded marble iconostas and enormous red granite columns.  This technological miracle does not belong to any particular architectural style, but borrows from them all.  It was built according to the plan of the classic Greek cross that supports five domes and has the third tallest dome in the world (after Saint Peter’s Cathedral in Rome and London’s Saint Paul’s).

After a nourishing breakfast (included in accommodation rate) the day is free for shopping, your leisure or an optional tour: a  panoramic city tour of Novgorod* Real Russian ancient architecture can be found just 180 km away from Saint-Petersburg. The cradle of Russia, it was first major crossroads on the route from the Baltic to the Mediterranean that followed the great Russian rivers to the Black Sea.
